SDE specialise
in building surface models of the highest CAD integrity
to suit all the downstream processes. Our experience
and software point particularly to CAD models with a
complex non-geometric or freeform shape. Most of our
work goes through to cutter path generation for CNC
applications. Our engineering knowledge allows us to
confidently supply models that fully feasible parts
can be made from. At the higher end of our surfacing
capability is our “Class A” modelling, which
is used throughout the automotive industry on all highly
visible parts. Our Cad system, Icem Surf, normally works
alongside engineering Cad systems such as Catia, Unigraphics,
Ideas and Pro Engineer to supply them with a controlled
surfacing capability that they lack. Due to our diversification,
other industries can now benefit from receiving automotive
quality designs from SDE.
Alongside
Icem Surf, we use software, which has a powerful semi
automatic surfacing function from scan data. This "Quick
Surfacing" offers a cost effective alternative
to traditional surfacing.
