3D Scanning Service

We have 2 Solutionix high-end structured light 3D scanners. For smaller items we also have a computer controlled self-registering turntable. Our facility allows us to digitally acquire just about any physical item, large or small. For extremely large items such as aircraft or buildings we have access to a Mensi scanner.
The scanners are entirely portable and so can be taken to the subject if necessary. They each capture 1.3 million points per scan and are unusually tolerant to adverse light conditions. The data produced is highly suited to engineering applications such as inspection and reverse engineering as well as less technical uses such as animation, cultural heritage archiving, 3D medical libraries and visualisation work.

	Our tests have shown the Solutionix scanners to be highly accurate.
	The resulting data is very clean and organised.
	They are non-contact scanners making them suitable for artefact archiving.
	The scanners use optical structured light techniques, which are usually superior to laser scanners for edge detail. They also have a wider single scan than most laser systems and so are less reliant on software registering.
	Being structured light; there can be no concern for retinal damage if faces are scanned. This makes them more suited for live object scanning.
	Our scanners are less affected by strong light conditions or part reflectivity than most other scanners.
	There is no size limit for the subject.
	There are numerous procedures that we can use to aid data registration such as features, target markers and turntable, each method having merits for different application.
