Automotive
interiors are governed by many safety regulations. One
of these restricts fillet radii in areas that can be contacted
by a headform swung from the “H” point. SDE
have some very specialised software that can simulate
this test and highlight any areas that can be contacted
by the head and indicate whether they meet or fail requirements.
We understand that we are the only bureau that can offer
this specialised service.
We have access to a variety of rapid prototyping and model
making techniques to validate designs.
To prove out surface quality we normally have a reference
model machined from a high density modelling board such
as Ureol. This can be prepared with a very high quality
surface finish to highlight any defects in the surfaces.
To validate designs of assemblies or mechanisms we can
supply any rapid prototype models through an associate
company. These models can be fully functioning and made
to look like a production part. To this end we can source
SLA and SLS models or for low volume production parts
we can supply RIM mouldings from silicon or Ureol tools.
